STUDENT ESSAY CONTEST

Canadian Theological Society

Société théologique canadienne

Subject: Conference theme "The City: A Festival of Knowledge" or any topic in theology.

Eligibility: Any student currently registered in a Canadian university or theological college.

Length: 20 pages, typed and double spaced (about 5,000 words)

Due Date: Postmarked no later than February 6, 2006. Email strongly preferred. franklin@ultratech.net

Essays need not be written originally for this contest and may be assignments from a course in theology or religious studies. The topic, however, must be theological in nature. This year's theme allows for the exploration of theology and culture or topics specifically related to the city, and issues of urban life.

A letter from a member of the theological or religious studies department to which the student belongs, indicating that the student is in good standing with the university or college, must accompany all papers submitted.

The author of the winning essay will receive $100, an invitation to read the paper at the annual meeting of the Canadian Theological Society at York University in Toronto, May 28-30, 2006, payment of meeting registration fees, and a subvention for travel and accommodation costs.

One copy of the essay with the accompanying letter from the faculty member should be emailed or submitted by regular mail and postmarked by 6 February 2006 to:
